ok, been in and out of the site long enough, and kinda curious. what does everyone do for a living to help finance their hobby. like myself, i am in the navy and my wife is a casino dealer down here in MS, a typical dual income family of two kids and 4 dogs, make good money but still can't seem to put it all into my truck. well, i guess i could but i have a lot of other hobbies and toys. 4wheeler, jetski, that kinda crap. also, i guess i ask this question cause it seems that some of our brotherin are on the young side and have some sweet rides. anyway, i guess i am just jelous cause in my single days i could afford......well, a whole helluva lot more. lol. thanks for puting up with this post....

 

Well, I'll start off.

I'm a carpenter working for my Fathers construction company. I take care of some of the business side stuff but, for the most part stick to hanging drywall and taking care of ALL the other stuff necessary to finish a job up.(from carpet patching to helping security install their systems) We deal mainly in interior commercial construction.

I'm 27 and single right now so that leaves me with some money to spend on my truck.

and by the way folks. I have 2 and a half months left in the navy. giving up 8 years to go work for my uncle in the carpet, tile, wood floor business. hey, money will double so who gives a crap right. guess that will mean more stuff for the truck......

 

I'm a dispatcher for an aviation company that does setups for private and chartered aircraft. We set up customs, landing and overfly permissions for country's where such is required. Basically whatever is needed to fly a private aircraft within or outside of the U.S.

 

I'm 27 and married, no kids. I'm a CNC programmer/operator in the "ready to assemble" wood industry but our company does a whole lot more than that. We manufacture pegboard for stores like Wal-Mart and other types of displays. We've done stuff for Duracell and Mannington flooring displays. My wife and I just bought a house last October so alot of mod money is going into it right now. Hey John, wanna take a trip to Michigan this winter? I'll be drywalling our family room.

20, single(not married, kinda attached though)work for home depot, make pretty sweet money, and do some side jobs for cash, and sell parts for extra money as well, i make ends meet needless to say. thinking about going to work for Bell Helicopter full time and schooling at the same time to get my degree, that would leave me with quite a bit of mod money.

 

Matt, do you guys get 1/8", 4x4 pieces of pegboard at your Home Depot from Louisana Pacific? There's about a oh...100% chance it came from the plant I work in.

 

yeah, we get a few different things we get from LP at my store. several different lumber products. there are 2 guys on the board that work with me, me and JMZ28 and my human resource manager, but i don't know his name on here. what do you do Jsmith?

 

pewter03gmc, i sorta do the same for the navy. Yeoman, which is admin beyoch in normal terms. we have to set that crap up for people on travel. that is one part of my job that i hate the most. cause it seems, no one likes to fly last class. and yes, i do get the cheapest tickets i can find..hehehehehe. other than that, i run the administration shop for the TWENTY-SECOND Naval Construcion Regiment based out of Gulfport, MS. My parent command is Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE. Same place. just, i was needed at the higher headquarters command so there i find myself, with a dodge hemi lovin new yorker. (if you can't tell there is a lot of anger in that last sentence.)
