It was way cheaper than anyone else! Better yet, they keep them in stock.
Then again, I'm not too sure if they will have a GMC hood though. Those are less common. Either way, it will still be the same price if they had to order one in. It's an all steel hood too!
PM me if your interested.

Jim

jimbo you might be gettin a pm here pretty soon!

all steel seems like it would be pretty heavy but then again so is fiberglass when you think about hoods

I heard that steel is the only way to go. Fiberglass is much lighter, but you may have tension issues. I heard some fiberglass hoods shake on the freeway too. I don't know how true it is, but it's believable. ...better safe than sorry.

Re: the Antennae delete, there's a thread on here about it somewhere. I bought a short 16" Black Rubber antennae that works really well. It unscrews in a minute, so I keep it in my glovebox in case I need it. The base is hidden in the wiper cowl so you don't have to worry about leaving a hole in the fender. Even without the antennae completely, I was able to get road warning broadcasts and such in the mountains.

Ask a body shop how much they charge to smooth out, fit, and paint a fiberglass hood. A lot more than the quote I got for the steel hood!! The estimater explained why. It made since.
