Default What is difference between 03 and 05 Tahoe fuel pump sending unit?

I need a new sending unit for the wifes tahoe, Its a 2005. I believe it has a pin hole in it causeing the gas smell im noticeing and hard starting.

I have been searching for them on the web.

The 01-03 seem to be 100$ cheaper and have plastic " fingers" / lines.

The 04-05 are more expensive and have steel " fingers'' / lines.

Both are Delco parts.

What is the difference?

I really dont want another steel sending unit, and dont want to spend 100$ more if i can get the less expensive one to work.

Thanks for any info!!

Your gonna have to spend the $100 more! I just put a sending unit in my 05 gmc Friday, and ordered the dorman fuel sender from orilleys, it was like $35. Well it was definitely the wrong one. So we called gm and had one over nighted for $120. But everything works perfect now.
