what controls the overhead dome when the key is removed?

If the RAP is working properly, but the dome lamps don't turn on when the key is pulled from the ignition, then I think the problem is with the ignition switch or wiring to it. Any updates on this?

Guys, I think it's something in the door.
My window was busted in last year and the ********* also ruined my key hole. They pushed the cylinder in so bad it was just dangling inside the door. So I just took the whole thing out. The key cylinder and the metal rod inside the door is gone.
The overhead light has worked intermittently when the key is removed but isn't working now anymore. So I do believe it's something in the door. I guess I'll need to pull the door panel off again and take a look, but I dont recall seeing any switches.

There's definitely something behind the latch inside the door. When I want to leave my door open and the chime is pissing me off, I just push the latch in with my finger and it goes off.
Then when I'm finished with whatever I was working on, I almost always forget and slam the door without opening the latch back up

The courtesy switch is in the latch in the door that locks on to the striker on the body to keep the door closed, I replaced mine a few years ago when I had a problem with my interior lights staying on all of the time. I found water and corrosion in the switch...where I used to live, I parked on a hill where the drivers side was higher than the passenger side and water that got past the window belt moulding would run directly into the latch mechanism.
