Default what controls the overhead dome when the key is removed?

For some reason my in-cab light isn't coming on when I turn the truck off. The light does come on when I use the key fob to unlock the doors. Thanks.

there's a "door open" switch that's probably malfunctioning.
i don't exactly know where it is on our trucks, though. sorry

2000.

And I wonder if it does have something to do with the door because it started malfunctioning after my window got busted in and I had to pull the door panel off several times.

if it's like the vettes & has a sensor in the latch, take the panel off again & make sure the connector's in & making good contact

Michael, there are 2 different schematics. One for base model, and one for uplevel. If I printscreen and post it up for you, you won't be able to read it since the print will be too small. If you pm me a fax number, I'll fax it to you, if that helps.

On the 2000 GMC, your courtesy lamps are tied to the retained accessory power. This is how it should work. You park and turn off the key, the radio should continue operating. If you remove the key from the ignition(before opening any door), the courtesy lamps should turn on. Then when you open the door, the radio (running on retained accessory power) should turn off. Of course the courtesy lights will stay on, the door is open. After closing the door, they should stay on for about 10 seconds, then go out.

Be sure to post up what you find wrong.

Where do you find good wiring schematics for these trucks? Im trying to track down a fuel pump gremlin. Where did you get the door switches at?
