i got a 5spd 4.8 with intake/exhaust, reg cab/short bed...what do u think i'd run if i launch in 4hi and put it in 2hi after i shift to 2nd gear? 3.73 gears

Rook, that depends on how brave you are. I'd say 15.3 IF your not scared to dump the clutch at about 4000 rpms. The faster you can get of the line the better you will do.

if you have a pretty much stock 4.8L and you're having to put it in 4wd to launch, you may need some drag racing tips.

Yes it a stock 4.8 that only has an exhaust, intake, e-fan, and tune. And it has pretty big tires that grip alot better than stock. It spins bad off the line because of the peg leg and the fact we piled on the timing in the low RPMs to give it better throttle and more guts off the line. From the mid range up its more mild like a regular tune. I think something wasnt going right with it that night, because it doesnt really feel that slow. It feels more like a high 15 second truck by the butt-ometer.

yees the butt-ometer i like that ****. maybe we should add a little more top end timming or something. or we could just wait and get that turbo on after deployment.

I put in for 4 sets of orders to Cali. All of which are hot-pics that need to be filled in 1-4 months. If i get any of those i wont be here when you get back.

dump the clutch in 4hi or 2hi?

im not afraid to dump the clutch...everything is still warrantied for a nother 2 1/2 yrs or 34k miles

maybe this friday ill take it there...or next tuesday. if i go i'll def tell u all what i run.

put it in 4hi and dump the clutch. launch hard and keep the rpms up.
