When i pulled the 4.3 out of the s10 and put the 4.8 in. Here was only a 10# diff between the engines dressed out. The 4.8 weighed more but not enough to matter.

I weighed when i left the scrap yard the other day. My turd of a truck, 2000 ecsb 2wd with 6.0/80e, 2 batteries, bout 7 rifles, ton of ammo , tool box full of tools and junk, and 120# alum diamond plate. She weighed 5610#.
On my 12.5 pass it weighed 5150. When i got home i cleaned it out and went back to the scales, 4700#. Thats a big difference.
Good ole work truck ....

Right, the iron block/alum headed V8's weigh close to the same as the all iron V6. But the all aluminum engines have a pretty good bit of weight advantage. 80-100lbs if I recall. The 4.3 fully dressed with no fluids should be right around 425lbs. All 195hp of it a well over 100ci addition and shedding a few lbs off the nose should be good for something right?? Lol

Yeah, you're best bet will be from a local chassis shop to make you a set of chomoly ones. I've called about a few different sets of off the shelf arms and only one was lighter and it was only by 2-3# per side. Not worth the $1k+ to me. Need to find some that are 15-20# lighter

Not sure on what my full-size weighs but my Colorado is at 3230 lbs. with 20's, full tank of gas, and stereo (box, sub, two amps, etc.), bottle, with me in the truck.
