looking at a 96 tahoe 2 door that has a tired 350 in it. should I just build that 350 or buy a 5.3 or 6.0 and build that and stick in it? Also I want to lower the beast, should i leave it 4wd convert to awd or turn it into a 2wd? I've been out of the performance game for a while so i'm trying to ease back into it. Thanks for the help in advance!!!

These all seem like personal taste questions. I would personally love a 5.3/6.0 in a Tahoe. Especially with AWD. However, it comes down to what you want out of it and budget. The crazier you get the more the cost goes up. I would say since it already has an appropriate 60e/4wd setup I would keep that and do the 5.3 conversion first. Unless you have a shop and a lot of budget. The 5.3 will feel tons stronger by itself. Toss some heads and a cam on board and it will feel like a beast.
