A friend of mine is getting ready to buy a new truck, I went with him today to test drive a couple, we drove a F250 diesel, piece of crap power and turning radius just plain sucked. Then we went to the Toyota dealership, and drove a 2007 Tundra with the 5.7 motor. Those things are extremely quick!!! Out of the hole, that thing was just amazing, power was everywhere in the powerband, the only dead spot was at the 1-2 shift when the rpm's went below 3k then above that it pulled really hard. I was extremely impressed with the truck, interior was nice, storage space was great, look is ok, I don't like the tail lights and they have some kind of trim piece on the hood that is just plain ugly. The motor is the jewel of this truck, the dealer said it had 381HP, and ran a 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. I don't know I have not looked it up to verify, but it did not seem to far off. Just a warning be very careful when pulling up beside one of these trucks the ones with the big motor have a badge on the front fender that says 5.7 with red behind it. I have no doubt that they will kill a stock 5.3 and probably run very close with a highly modded 5.3. I just hope my friend does not buy one, because I will have to spend some more money just to keep up with him. I just cant stand the thought of being spanked by a import...

 

Thats about the only thing that truck has going for it is the engine. Cause that truck is fugly!
