Is having aftermarket 20' wheels and having disconnected the cluster to install white overlays a good reason to void your warranty? I'm asking because MIL came on and I'm taking the truck to the dealership. If it is then I'll make sure its back to stock in no time before I take it in. Thanks

 

The only thing I can think of is when you installed the cluster did it reset the mileage on the cluster. When you change some cluster it reset it. but!! the mileage is stored in the computer so if you tell them those are the miles and when they hook up the computer it shows something else it could void the warranty

 

It depends on the dealer you take it too, some might be comlete jerks about and say you void your warranty when you installed your mufflers, rims, or intake. They should not be like this but who knows, I would ask them before theyeven touched you truck. If they tell you "your warranty is voided," go find another dealer to do business with.

 

No it shouldn't void anything! Like mentioned above it all depends on what the service writer thinks. Whenever the cluster is diconnected nothing is lost is all stored in the computer so you should be fine. The only way you will need to re-issue miles in the cluster is when you get a brand new cluster, then the miles will have to be redone.

 

your fine. if they wanna try you sue them haha. that cant void your warantee. the cluster stores the mileage in it also.

 

Yeah everything is stored even the oil life and trips so I don't see a reason either. But hey just making sure. Thanks everyone
