VortecMAX/LQ9 swap help, lots of questions.
#21

1 of the reason when I purchased my truck was because of the drive by cable. I want control and feel the response from my foot, no delay what so ever. So I am happy it will be on the LQ9, they never came with.

This is my 183k mile 5.3

This is my 2004 75k mile 6.0 LQ9

Ready to drop in once I change knock sensors, and weather permits.

This is TOO GOOD to be true. I ohmed out all the sensors checked the resistance, compared to my 5.3 and ALL sensors are GREAT! I did change the oil pressure sensor which was melted. So Im reusing all the others. Also pulled all the plugs, and they looks brand new, so inspected those carefuly too, and the test good tolerance. SO Im reusing those as well. Got to love your DMM. I swapped the plug wires over to the LQ9 from the 5.3.
Just thought I would share that. Cause thats amazing.

PURRS like a Kitten.
Same spark plugs iridium delcos the engine came with, same sensors except oil sending unit. Swapped my 5.3 intake, coils, waterpump. She has tons of power with zero leaks. Way better than my 5.3 IMO
Just thought I would update this.

Yes sir, put 40 miles on her yesterday. Was a blast to drive those 40 miles, hands down this was the best power upgrade to dollar ratio. The engine runs smoother and quieter than the ole 5.3. The computer tells the difference at part throttle, it just slips the tranny from the extra tq output. I need a tune bad.
