Vortec MAX owners, has your power decreased?

This happened again when I was trying to get around a car because I needed into the other lane. Then from a stop once, I eased into the gas to about 3/4 throttle and I started to spin so I let off.
Lately, the truck feels more sluggish. I can feel (or at least I think) the torque management taking power away. I have not had any spin like I had before. I don't punch it from a stop because I would expect it to spin that way, but it won't spin them easily during kickdowns to first or hard acceleration in first anymore.
Does the computer learn from the wheelspin and retard your timing more the next time? What gives?
Any other VMAX owners experiencing this?
Mike
P.S. My truck still only has 950 miles on it.

Excuse me on this, But How about the tempature of the road surface? Everybody knows when roads are cold and your tires are cold its very easy to spin the tires. When its under 45ish here my tires will spin for 20foot at 30mph when it downshifts. But when it warms up a bit it might only spin 5 foot, and when it gets hot they wont spin at all. And since it is offically spring and the weather is starting to warm up all the fun we all had during colder months will slowly come to a end.

The only gas powered item I neglect is my Cavalier. I only put 87 octane in it. That is only because I HATE that car
The temperature thing might be part of it. The times the tires spun easily it was a bit colder.
The new tires being slippery thing could be part of it too.
I swear that I "feel" the engine pull power though. Sometimes it pulls more timing than at other times. It depends on how I drive it. The truck seems to accelerate more when I ease into the throttle rather than flooring it and holding it there. That to me indicates that the 'puter is pulling timing.
I am considering a Nelson tune. I plan to use the truck for pulling a camp trailer in the summer, so I wonder if he can write a towing program to put in the tow/haul mode, and a performance/mileage program for normal driving. Hmmm.
Mike
P.S. Thanks for the input. It sounds like I am not the only one experiencing this.

Not to worry in my opinion, power will actually soon get much better. Forgive me for having posted this link on various forums about 1,000,000 times now:

Take a look at the new-vs.-40,000 mile performance numbers. I've owned 4 NBS Chevy's and have always observed a seat-of-the-pants increase in power once they get about 10k miles on them.

Sorry about that... I'm ready. I've even got an 06' vortec max on file.
As for the tire spin, that may be very temperature related as mentioned or even that you were on tires that hadn't worn in all that well yet. Once a tires wear's in some it will get a better contact patch and hook up easier because of this. Always room for more power though.
