You can get the engine code from the VIN and you get all of the option codes from the other tags found in the glove box. Don't recall if there were any tags on the doors or not.

I have a question about vins also and I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything so I apologize if this offends anyone. My new truck(VHO) was listed by the insurance company as being a quad cab. They said that my vin should start with a 1 but it starts with a 2. what is the deal with this. their charging me more then the extended cab trucks. any help would be great.

I bet it has something to do with that 6.0 you got under the hood. I was told we were lucky they are not classified as a "performance" truck like the SS. Whatever that means. My insurance (so far) is about the same as my '02 ECSB.

well my regular cab is $64 a month. My extended cab is 4100. seems that is alot but could have alot of factors in it. the insurance lady thought iI was crazy when I told her my vin started with a 2. she argued for 30 minutes that it had to start with a 1.
