Default Video camera software?

Well I want to make a video of an upcoming race with a Harley-Davidson truck so I went out and bought a Sony DV HandyCam this weekend. It has the good lens and the Nightshot feature. Works great and easy to use the camera. That's all the good I can say about it. The software for downloading to the computer, editing and saving on cd absolutely sucks. I have never seen software so vague. Who makes user friendly software that I can use with this camera and Windows XP? Also, what's the advantage of the "firewire" over the USB cable?

Dunno, but I do know that if you enable the nightshot during the day with an infrared filter on it that it acts as an x-ray camera that shoots through clothing.

Windows XP comes with Windows Movie Maker. Never used it, but I would imagine it being pretty simple. I use Final Cut Pro 4 on my Mac.
Firewire kicks *** because it's waaaaaaaaay faster. I'd much rather use that then USB

HAH! I remember when that was on the news. Too bad they don't make them anymore.

I use Roxio VideoWave and it is really easy to use. I have been looking for something a little more advanced for some future vids I have in mind.
