valley cover.. crack or poor forging?

i had just snapped to forged being the incorrect term, hence the. thanks for the input guys

you should see what a transmission case looks like before it is machined...
I still have a few of those around the tail shaft housing, looked like that when I first got the trans...never leaked or caused any problems. Just the casting.
