V6 to V8 SWAP
#1
Hey what's up,
I own a 2000 Silverado 1500 LWB it has a 4.3 Vortec/auto. Down the line I want to swap out the 4.3 for a stronger V8. What I want to know is this kind of swap worth doing? If so what V8 should I go for? Do people who do these kind of swaps run into problems? Would it be wise to take to a professional to do such a swap?
Thanks,Mike

the swap is very worth it. your best bet is to buy as complete of a motor as possible because the accessories to your v6 will not swap over to the v8. if you buy a motor like most come youll have to buy extra stuff like intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, front accessories, fuel rails and injectors, redoing the exhaust etc. that stuff will nickle and dime you to death!
heres a nice motor for sale that any v6 owner would love to buy. 98% ready for any v6 swapper
