Default UPD question before buying

it's been a while since i've had my stock air box in, airaid's taken care of that. so now i'm moving on to the UPD but i have a question before i buy...

isn't there a metal plate that the stock air box bolts down to? well i threw that out a long time ago and now the stock air box will not properly bolt in, but the airaid bolts in fine. but how will the UPD bolt in, does it need that steel plate to properly work?

the UPD just screws on to the top of the stock airbox just like the stock intake did. you should still be able to install the UPD
