Yes, but there are a few of us here, who work on them for a living
They do TOW very nice, thats it. They stink, they sound like crap, they cost alot, at the shop, at the pump, and to buy new, and now with the new smog laws they will be very limited, of course, some people still think if it smokes it makes more power

Sounds like his truck is sick, that truck should be good for a mid to high 13 just with teh edge.
not up here. your lucky to pull low 14's with just the edge, most of them run mid to high 14's here. My buddy pulled a best of like a 14.3 with the squeeze.

Mines an 06 as well. It was the same for me, I originally wanted a duramax but I settled for a vmax. I didnt want a 5.3, if I wouldn't have found a vmax I would have just swapped out the 5.3 in my old 04 Z71. I also got a good deal on my truck as well. I had 285's on my truck but I went back down to 265's in lue of performance.

And why they waited until then to do it I will never know. I wanted a crew cab, I liked the extra room in the backseat. Plus came with 4.10 gears and a better rear end, cant beat that.

My 07 LBZ Duramax EC, SB, 4X4 ran 13.7, up hear in colorado at over 8500'DA. All My truck has is a $450.00 PPE tuner and that is it. The rest is 100% stock from the stock exhaughst, with cat, to the paper air filter. The Dmax is not quite as bullet proof as people lead you to think. Once you get faster than mid to low 12's you are living on borrowed time with the stock short block. The stock rod's are the weak link. Your looking at 10-12K for a bottom end that will hold 11 sec power reliably. Then another 3K for a 2nd Cp3 injection pump, and another 1200.00 for a co-piolat(trans controler), and the list goes on, and on.

LOL! Thanks! The 70 ran 11.50's at 1800'DA before the new yank converter. Tried to run it sacramento raceway(63' elv) sat, but on the way we got cought up in that big crash on highway 99. That was the worst thing I have ever seen. I had worked on the truck all week. The truck made it thrugh with just a bent rear axel, but my dad's duelly is totaled. I probably got screwed out on an 11.30, or 40 pass, but Im thankfull we are still alive, and not seriously injured. One of the guy's that died was rite next to us.

I agree with everything you said sans the sound like crap. I like the new LMMs they are nice and quiet and sound good with a corsa exhaust. A diesel is not for everyone including the OP of this thread. Me wanting one boils down to I just want a diesel pretty much, all the rest is an added bonus.
