You could always wait for the 4.5 Diesel in the 1500 and do the same mods currently being done on the duramax in the 2500.

It will be lighter, probably make good HP and TQ and still get good mileage.

I like the idea of the new duramax when they come out.

I got a good price on my truck when I bought it new so I didn't have the option of getting the biggest motor or rear end choice.

What are your realistic performance goals? Mileage concerns? What kind of mpg are you looking ot get out of it? Do you tow at all? How much money are you looking to spend and what mods are you going to be doing to your current truck if you keep it?

Realistic- 12 second CC would be nice. Honestly just want a quick daily driver that isn't the same as everyone elses out there.

I drive 10 miles each way to work, so I am not worried about mileage. Although I don't want to continuously get 10 mpg.

I don't tow at all. Just use the truck for the bed when hauling crap around.

I have already ordered the Trick front mount Turbo kit. Should be here on Tuesday.

Was thinking somewhere around the 10 G mark for money spent on extras. Figure that means the turbo and the built trans. A new rear end, and that is about it.

I am not saying that won't be a fun truck when I am done, I just wonder if for that same money the d-max would be more fun to drive.

Unless you're gonna buy the Banks turbo Diesel truck, might as well go get yourself a nice International Harvester or John Deere.......It will never be the same, you're talkin apples and oranges. BTW, never had any trouble taking a Diesel truck down.

You made my point, the engine option would have been $1700 more in the original purchase, you get the 4.10s and 14 bolt 70e trans, tossed on forced induction and a shift kit,you would have ended up with more for less $

Well I didn't have a choice of engine or anything. I took the LAST 2006 in New England. Like I said, got a good deal, but had to take that one.
