Default Trying to break 14.9's

I did 2runs last night for the heck of it since I put the thorley longtube tri-y's on.
1st. run had some wheel spin
60ft.2.28
1/8mile 9.74 at 72
1/4mile 15.36 at 88MPH

2nd run,hooked pretty good
60ft.2.25
1/8mile 9.71
1/4mile 15.18 at 90MPH
The 2nd run is my best yet.It will pull consistant 15.2's now that the Thorley's are installed.I only need a few tenths to break 14.9's,I can not think of what to do without pullin the heads off or breaking into the engine.

Grab some comp 1.6 magnum rockers. That'll put you into the 14's. I don't see that you hooked up any better by the time 60' on the 2nd pass. If you could launch the truck harder(flash the converter instead of stalling against it) that would make a world of difference.

I'd get a converter. That knocked almost a half of a second off of my ET.

I thought about the rockers but I heard that they wont make much difference if any.Thats just what I heard. The I have pulled a 2.23 60ft. but I didnt last night. The first run I only had a little spin, not much. But the second run I launched easier to try to keep from spinnin. My buddy is goin to let me borrow his ET streets 28x12.5/15's and maybe I can just romp on the gas without any spin at all.My main problem is spinnin.I stall it up to 1300rpm and roll into it,that seems to help out alot but what do you mean by flashing the convertor?

" his ET streets 28x12.5/15's "
You'll probably bog

Flashing the converter: Romp it from idle rather than bringing it up to x RPM. I have had better luck doing that in heavier cars w/ stock converters

I can't really explain why it does it. I put et drags on a 14.0x sec camaro and it went 14.50s. Tires were the same dimensions as the street tires I was running.
I'm sure you've done the tricks like pulled the spare off, removed/dropped the tailgate, pulled the jack out, have you thought of taking the rear seat out? You don't ahve a heavy system in there do you? Fold the mirrors in too.

Accually,I left the tail gate up,left the spare on.I ran it just like I drive it everyday with every thing on and in it.No I dont have a heavy sterio in there though.I did not think it was worth pullin the spare and taking the tailgate off.I also made these runs with 3/4 tank of gas which was dumb but oh well.

Nothing dumb about it if you are trying to see what you can easily reproduce(good way to know what you run on the street). If you were going for a personal best I would suggest dropping some weight though.
