Default Truck's going under the knife starting tomorrow!

Well, the 4.8L has been a great motor, but the swap begins tomorrow. I got word from the tranny shop and the tranny has been shipped and will arrive Monday. My electric fans have been purchased and I ordered a Nelson fan harness today. Everything motor wise is done, the TR224 and the heads have been slightly worked/milled with Comp 918 springs. I have a TCI 3000 stall, Team Tripp Super Duty 4l60(shift kit, vette servos, blah blah), and a permacool tranny cooler. I have Thorley long tubes, 2 magnaflow single inlet/outlet muffers, two 3" electric cutouts, and a magnaflow xpipe. I went ahead and got a Hypertech 160 thermostat and an 02 pcm with a Nelson Tune.
Next week, I'm ordering my ported/polished throttle body, my 2 street slicks, two shocks(too replace these stiff *** toxic shocks!), and hopefully, if Goshawk gets off his butt j/k I can get my 3.73 gears put in. By Thunder, I'll have my wet shot and a few other small things. It's finally starting to get done for me. Lord knows it took long enough!!! Maybe it will be worth it!

I know what you mean about the swap. It's been a dream of mine since I went to Hubcity in Hattisburg and saw how slow my 4.8L really was. I was so happy to graduate college in May, and lucky enough to land a job that could fund all of this. Hopefully, I'll be able to give a report on it Tuesday, no later than Wednesday. I may try to get up to Memphis and throw it on the dyno. You'll get there, trust me, this time last year I had no idea all of this would be happening now. I would have laughed at the thought of it all, because I was a poor *** college student.

BigTex had the heads milled, he did a hand port/polish job on them, installed thinner head gaskets, and installed my Comp 918s and cam, so he could probably better answer the question of how much was milled. He did all the work, and I never would have gotten any of this done without him. He's the one that made everything possible for me. I knew absolutely nothing about anything, and he has taught and explained so much for me. It's nice to have mods like him that are so trustworthy on a site like this. MY HAT GOES OFF TO ALL THE MODS ON THIS SITE, AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO BIGTEX!!!

Actually, the only reason I went this route is due to the high miles and the great deal I got from BigTex.

I've got a mechanic to do the entire swap, so I really can't vouch for how much time he is going to take(you know coffee breaks, beer breaks, who knows what other kind of breaks he might take.. ). I may be wrong, but I'm guessing you're wondering maybe to get an estimate of time/hourly rate? If so, he is charging me $1000 for everything. That includes the motor, the boltons, the transmission, anything else he runs into. That seemed to be the rate everywhere I checked. The tranny won't get here until Monday, so he has told me it will be ready Wednesday at the latest. I'm so damn fired up!!!!
