my z71 with the door open will blink the security light, and when the alarm is active with the door closed it will also blink the security light ( go figure )with the door closed and alarm is deactivated it will start right up no security light blinking though.

but no doubt its worth a try..

I agree with what the other guys have said. After watching the video its either VATS or Fuel pump. I had VATS completely taken out of my truck because it used to be a v6 and the Security relearn wouldn't work for me. I would try to start it once and let it try and fire and after it has go press the shrader valve on the fuel rail and if it stil has Good pressure its VATS. Just as a precaution if it still has good pressure its going to squirt gas everywhere so cover your eyes.

so just checked fuel pressure, reading 65 pounds when i turn the key on, and when i crank it for the short amount of time i can it, drops to about 53.

= good right? humm what next?

the injectors are getting there signal pulse to squirt

and the security light stops flashing whenever the key is in.

I was about to but security light dosent flash when the key is in. And it said start it then leave the key on and wait 10 min till it stops blinking. Plus the injectors are working. It's gettin spark, fuel, the right fule pressure.

Not sure what to check next.

does it die when you release the key to run position? if yes youtes might want to invest in an ignition switch

truck won't start after new battery in google results = security re-learn

disable vats brings back a plethora of like results

I doan know about you, but my next mod is disable vats via pcm program ........I doan need no VATS and you?

With VATS It still enables the ejectors to squirt for the enitial start up it just does not allow them to spray once the vehicle tries to start. (I took the intake off to look at the enjector spray when i had my VATS problem, all of them spray for a split second then stop.) Vats = (V)ehicle (A)nti (T)heft (S)ystem. From my understanding the ECU sends and recieves a signal to somewhere in the cab and if the codes or signal are not correct it won't allow it to fire up. (Correct me if im wrong guys) Its so someone can't steal a motor out of a truck and put it in another without the ecu getting ticked. Get ahold of someone with HP tuners or something and disable it. I am almost willing to put money on it.
