Unhappy truck wont start,...

after 5 months of sitting, i finally got my truck fixed. i took it in last week and got it back monday. turns out it was the spider gears... they were completely stripped.my idea was to fix it myself with a powertrax no slip, but i chickened out and took it to a guy i know. cost me a lot less that i thought it would. ANYWAY,... after driving it for 2 days, the bastard wont start.i did all kinds of running around yesterday, and today. several starts and stops, started right up every time. also, it didnt sit the 5 months without being ran.. i would go out 2 or 3 times a month and start it up, let it come up to temp. all that jazz, and no problems there. i had just finished installing a stereo i bought with the money i saved from getting the rear end fixed, went to start the bitch.. and it died immediately. i tried several times... same result everytime. it would start like normal, then just putter out, like its out of gas.. or something.(by the way it isnt). it acted like this when i ran seafoam through the top end, stars up, kinda stumbles for a second.. then dies. the only other time it hasnt started on me.. other than when the starter went out... was about a year ago , but that time it was just turning over and not starting at all. i sat there for about a half hour trying it several times.i got fed up and called someone to come get me, while waiting for them i tried it one more time, and it started up like nothing was wrong with it. sorry about the drawn out post ... any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

i just did a search and saw a few threads relating to the pass lock security crap... sounds like what mines doing... the pump primes up, truck starts.. uses up whats in the system.. and dies. only thing is the security light wasnt on. but maybe it thought i was trying to steal the stereo.. since i took it out and installed another. who knows. i bet the damn thing fires right up when i go to start it later today, we`ll see.

well, it did fire right up... but i dont think it had anything to do with the pass lock. fired up the first time.. gave it a few little revs and it was ok. fired up kinda funny the second time i tried it... and it sputtered a little when i gave it gas, but didnt die. i smelled raw fuel in the exhaust. plugs maybe? ive been wanting to change the four electrode bosch plugs for a while, the truck has a low stumbly idle every now and then i attributed to the crap plugs. anyway, im going to try that. somebody speak up and tell me what they think. id appreciate it.

thanks

i went and picked up a set of tr55`s. 1.59 a piece, cant beat that. the bosch plugs looked like hell.one had backed itself out a bit, looked like it was leaking exhaust... the porcelain on that plug was brown. truck fired up and ran fine, idles well and no stuttering. maybe that was it, i hope it was.

well apparently it wasnt the plugs. its sitting in my driveway right now pulling the same ****. starts up fine.... but dies immediately. i tried disconnecting the battery, and that didnt work. maybe i didnt leave it disconnected for long enough. has anyone else experienced this?

reconnected the battery, still wouldnt run. went out ten minutes later, and it started up and ran. kind of stumbles a bit at first when you give it a little gas. weird stuff, whats going on with this thing. oh, and the speedometer is now pegged at 100... what the hell?
