Just got my new 2006 Silverado 1500 4x4 Extended Cab with LT3 trim, Vortec Max Package, Skid Plate Package and Spare Tire Lock. I took it out to the weight station and weighed it. The truck had approximately 23 gallons of fuel in the tank (it holds 26, fuel computer said 3.1 gallons used). The only thing in the truck when it was weighed was the owners manual in the glove box. No accessories had been installed, and nothing else was in the truck.

Weight: 5,220 pounds. 3,100 on front axle, 2,120 on rear axle.

Shipping weight on my invoice was 5,090 pounds, but I am assuming that is with a nearly empty tank of gas.

Gasoline weighs approximately 6.2 pounds/gallon. The 130 pound difference equates to 21 gallons of fuel. So it must have shipped with only two gallons in the tank.
