Wonder what year they started putting hydro boost on tahoe s ? My wife's 05 z71 has hydro boost .

NSBU switch , as its called on my dmax is the switch connected to the linkage telling the vehicle what gear position it's in , having a brain fart on what the 60/80e uses , but I thought it might be a place to check.
I believe 05 was the first year for hydroboost in the tahoes/subs/yukons, etc. Also the first year for the 13" front brake rotors and efans, IIRC. They got all the cool stuff

I thought the neutral safety switch was for telling the starter whether or not you were in park/neutral so you couldn't start your truck in gear. Does it affect the ability to shift out of park too? Haven't messed with one, this is all hearsay.

I think it does control the lock out solenoid also. Seems more likely you just left the solenoid disconnected if it only started after the swap though.

I thought you had done this swap a while ago? Was it working fine and then just now started this up?

I did the swap a while ago, but out of habit always pushed the brake in when shifting out of park. The other day I was in a hurry and punched the brake and shifted, then realized I had already let off the brake before I had moved the shifter, then tried it without touching the brake and was surprised to see the shifter would go to any gear from P without the brake.

I checked mine out of curiosity and it works exactly the same as it did before the swath, unable to shift out of park without the brake engaged.

I'm actually wondering if this is a separate problem at the steering column.

Interesting. Had my clockspring replaced last year by a professional, but other than that, haven't opened up the cover on the steering column.

#33 in this diag is the park lock cable and#52 is the shift lock actuator. Hope that helps.
