I am looking for ways to keep my truck from getting taken. I know if somebody wants it they will get it, but I want it to be hard on them
some of the things I have done.
A very well hid fuel pump cut off switch,
I am looking into getting a GPS vehicle tracking system. anybody have any experance with these. I looked at one that will send you a Text message if someone messes with your ride and you can track it through text's
also going to put one of these on,

plus I have a club for the steering wheel.
My sure way of defeating any thieves is not maintance free

Have you seen those car covers that look like an old junky car? Do they make them for trucks?
Good insurance Mark, make sure you have receipts for every little part, I know you have the pics to back them up.

Alarms and GPS are nice if they're going to try to take the whole thing, but....what if they just want parts or you stuff that's inside. It wouldn't be that hard to slide under your truck, cut the negative battery cable and pop the hood from the outside. From there, I can get most of your goodies, turbos, wg, piping bov's ic etc. Since your truck is dead I could pop the lock on the door and go for the stuff on the inside. No one would thing anything of it with the hood up. They'd just assume the owner is having engine trouble.
First thing you need to do is get a jimmi jammer or just switch to rear door handles for the front handles. No key holes or lock rods. This will force them to break a window, in which case you should have a glass sensor or two. You should have a tilt sensor so your wheels can't get jacked. Also modify your hood latch or put a metal guard over it. You would not believe how easy it is to get under the hood of our trucks. Proximity sensors are nice too, but it's a little difficult to get the range adjusted right. Basically you want it to chirp if some is too close and go off if someone is looking in the window. Definatley get a two-way alarm. That's the only way to go IMO. And a battery back up or two inside the cab, hidden somewhere difficult to get to.

that ****'s loud, someone broke the window on my truck a few weeks ago and i heard that **** INSIDE the resturant so i know that ****** heard it and everyone else in a 10 block radius.
I also comtemplated the same system with a speaker that plays a women screaming help me but that could cause problems if i was in the truck and it went off by accident. haha

I'm with them. and a definite on the train horns. you can mount 4 small train horns within the frame in various spots. Also have a backup battery, so even if they do cut the ground they aren't going to think you have 2. I would also find a way to put a pressure sensor on the hood and doors. So if either of them is opened the alarm sounds.
That part shouldn't be too hard, I'd imagen you can rig an ON/OFF type switch on the hinges. or just the opposite where Its a closed circuit with them shut and once the connection is severed the alarm triggers. Obviously have this set to the backup battery.
And i know viper makes an alarm system that will page you if your **** goes off.
And if you wana prevent car jackings you buy some more fuel rails an extra coil and a small 4psi pump. run a line under each door and set some switches in your floor board that turns on the coil (which is connected directly to the battery so it will spark immediately) and another switch that triggers the fuel pump. Some ******* comes up to your door with a gun you just step on each button and the bitch starts screaming for mercy.
Fire extinguisher might also be a good purchase now that i think about it.... But that's optional.

It may not help when I'm away from the truck, but when I'm in it/nearby:

Seriously though, the wiring of the alarm to its own power source is a good idea, along with making it painfully loud. A kid I knew in school had some horribly high pitched sirens he installed into the heater ducts and they seriously were painful to hear go off.
