Angry truck got hit today!!!!!

Well, after finding out that classes were cancelled, I was happily driving down hwy 67 (south of the DFW area) and was just about to turn onto I-20 when the 18 wheeler in-front of me that was carying large pieces of sheet metal started to have problems with the high wind. A few pieces of sheet metal started to fly off the truck. I managed to miss the first sheet by swerving violently, but the second sheet I couldn't avoid. The sheet metal(approx 8 ft long and 3 ft wide) nailed the front of my truck at around 65mph and scratched gashes in my hood, cracked the **** out of my windshield, and litterally ripped my antenna off(its literally hanging by wires right now, off the side of my truck).. The black plastic under the windshield wipers and around the antenna is also loose and possible cracked as well. It also tore up my new Magnacharger windshield sticker that I'm real proud of I managed to pull him over, he knew it hit me and we swapped info, he was really cool about it but it still sucks that it happened. What a day, I guess I'll be driving around with a nasty looking truck for a few days until my insurance and the truckers insurance can get me a settlement. BTW: does anyone make a cool replacement antenna?? Anyone else have a similar experience before? Thanks for letting me vent.......

Look at the bright side of things... atleast it was a piece of sheet metal from a 18-wheeler rather than a 18-wheeler hitting you... Atleast the damage done is "superficial" although pride is harder to fix than a windshield.

Hope your insurance comes through for you and things get put back together better than ever.

yeah your right, It could have been worse. I plan on it looking better than it did before after its all settled. I wonder how much a windshield costs anyways??
Thanks

it was white, and the trailer was just a flat bed with piles of sheet metal strapped down to it.

Man, that really sucks! Glad he was cool enough to pull over and deal with it. Most of the drivers in these parts would'nt stop.
I was behind a work truck, you know, the ones with ladders and lawn mowers filling up the bed? I got over just as a 20' aluminum ladder came off and flew past my drivers door!
Damm near had a coronary!

Go get a quote to get it fixed at a dealership with all GM factory parts so it soutrageously expensive then turn that in to them. Then use a normal body shop get you a cowl hood and you can get a new windshield for 130sih. You can get a billet antenna to replace the factory black one. You can come out on top fo the deal if you play your cards right. You can also get a street scene smooth wiper cowl and if it messed up the front clip any you could get all kinds of aftermarket stuff out of that. Gotta know how to work the system
