Default Trap Door Fuel Tank Access

I'm getting tired of dropping my tank.

I was thinking of getting a bed repair panel to make a trap door, but I can't find any that are listed for my year.
How does everybody else make access panels?

Have you tried just pulling the bed? I find it much easier....

yes sir! lol..... Fu*k dropping the tank! I have fabricated up a metal bar with bathtowels taped up around the ends (like a cushion) and I caddy-corner it inside the bed and then I use the ol' Blot & Tackle or the Cherry Picker if one of my Techs aren't using it.

All good suggestions, but I know somebody must have trap door experiences to share.

*** that cut a hole in the bed, thats what I did. I havn't got around to making a cool cover to fill the lil hole, but added a new BED COVER, so what hole are you talking about.. I got tired of it too. Now I am in and out in ten min.. Beats picking up the bed, dropping the tank, by 1000000000000%

While we were replacing the fuel pump a few days ago on my truck. We began to talk about a trap door as well. I had half a tank left on my truck when we dropped it, damn that thing was heavy. Hopefully someone has some input on trap doors, I'm interested as well. Although my bed has Line-X on it, which is gonna suck.
