Default transfer case

hello i bought a transfer case for a 99 chevy off ebay and when i got it i found out it was for the old style chevy and it wasnt worth sending it back bc after paying shipping both ways it would be no point in sending it back ( i have a new style 99)the only thing different that i can see external is the front output shaft, same bolt pattern even. has anyone tired to take apart one and put the new style output in a old style transfer case will it work or now?

You can use the old style transfercase in the new body stay. I went to the junk yard and found a driveshaft that was the right lenth. It was out of a 97 for explorer. I did have to do some trimming and. Put some diff. Caps on but it is working just fine
