Trans temp guage
I'm wanting to put a trans temp gauge in my truck, was wondering if anyone has done, or knows a way to put a Autometer or similar trans guage in a factory 2000 gauge cluster, in the same place as the Escalade gauge, or if I need to just get Escalade gauges, or a gauge pod?

i would like to know the same thing. whats the cheapest way to go.

Here you go should be the same for a tranny temp gauge.

Hey thanks. Thats what I'm talking about. Now all I have to do is see if my damn overlay lights will still work, or if I can find some stock overlays.
|
so he seperated the pieces and he had to cut a hole in the black piece?
|
No the black piece(the bezel) already has a hole in it where the tranny temp gauge would go. You just have to modify the internals of the cluster a bit nothin big just take the bezel off the gauge that you are puttin gin thereand it will look factory. White1 what do you mean overlay lights you mean the cluster lights that light the whole thing up?
While you are at it you might as well do this https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=345678 I did it to my escalade cluster and it looks bada$$. |
what size guage is that? also what temp range do i need to get.
|
2 1/16" you need a gauge that is going to show from about 140 to 240
somethin like this has the right range on it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUTOM...QQcmdZViewItem |
I have a unused but opened Autometer Phantom trans temp. Just P.M me. I'd just look for a HD cluster or escalade cluster with a trans temp already in it.
|
1slow, I got a cheep white gauge face, that is back lit, but the ring where this guage will go is lit also, I'll have to see if the lights will still work if I cut this part out, cause its too dark for the factory lights to show thru good.
