They will not total that. I bet repairs cost $14,000 -so it's under what it is worth. You do not want that to be fixed though. I know it's a bummer man. Too bad the front didn't get hit more... Hmm you said you will have the truck before the body shop?

Well the truck got to the body shop today and well it doesnt look good. the cab of the truck is twisted off the frame along with the bed. I dont know the exact estimate yet but its up near the 10k already w/o putting it up on a lift. there was mention of them having to pull the motor out to fix the firewall, so i can bet its going to be totaled. I would love to see them get that thing on a lift w/o a left rear wheel

From an insurance adjusters point of view, i'd probably total it. It didnt look like from the pics that your bags blew, but if they did, its 100% gone. Even without them tho, that is way more than 10k in damages.

Also, typically, vehicles dont get totalled at 100% value, they total them at 80-85% value since typically when there is that much damage, there will be supplements later that will push the total cost of repairs higher.

I was just involved in a four car rear ending yesterday on I-35 with my Yukon and my airbags didn't deploy either. I think I read someplace that the impact has to be around 45 mph or so before they deploy.
