Found HALF an o-ring... as far as I know this motor has never been apart, the oil pan was switched by the previous owner (maybe the pick up was too?) But anyways, I can't find the other half... which bothers me. What do you all recommend I do?

Here's my seal... definitely cut by being installed incorrectly. Any way this thing would've functioned normally like this?

 

no low to no oil pressure if it was ran. id be scared it ruined the bearings....

 

The more I think about, I bet it was never run like this. The guy I bought it from said he switched the oil pan, the motor is out of an Envoy SUV. Im betting the pick ups aren't the same between the two since the pans are diff. shapes? I also noticed that the "tab" on the pick up tube wasn't bolted on like it should be, bent down a bit. I wouldn't expect this to happen at the factory. I'm gonna try to check and see if the two pick up's are in fact different, if they are, chances are everythings ok, else I suppose I better pull a main? Anyone have the p/n for the seal? Thanks

 

Pick up has been changed. 99% sure motor was not run with bad seal. Now, just have to find the other piece? Found seal p/n: 12584922, Just darn glad I caught this...
