Default Tint fading? (3m, not the cheap stuff)

I've had my windows tinted for about 4 yrs now and it seems that they've faded a bit. Before I got them I read about cheap tints turning purple after a couple of years, and that 3m was the one to go for. Anyway, that's what I've got and it seems faded now and is a greenish color, not that noticeable but has gotten some comments (why does that silver car look green - mom ). I never used windex to clean them as the ammonia can fade a tint. Anybody heard of this? I've got 35% now and have been thinking of going to 20% for a while, this may be incentive to do so

You've probably used a cleaner that had some content of Amonia in it. It'll turn diffrent brands of tine to diffrent colors, depending on how they have been manufactured

Do you personally wash your cars or have you taken it to a carwash where they clean your interior/windows for you? Not sure what those places use for glass cleaner, but my windows are usually nastier when I leave the place than when I got there.

Good point, I usually wash them myself but I have taken it in before to those quickie lube/wash places. Hadn't thought about those guys messing them up
