*Time-Sert* have any of you guys used them? have a tool that i could rent? i recently purchased a cts v and swapped lifters on it. and lord behold i didnt clean out one of the holes good enough and pulled the threads. im stuck and i need it running asap.

Are you talking about a thread repair kit? Heli-Coil maybe. The kits come with the tap and repair threaded insert. Just make sure you get the drill bit as well. The Texas panhandle has several parts suppliers that have a large selection of thread repair kits. Probably there in Dumas ! If not road trip to Amarillo. Which hole was it?

In the book it shows to be number 9. the machine shop here does heli coil. but he said he doesnt know if he has the right stuff for my block. i was looking on ls1tech and a bunch of people use the time serts. its the gm approved way of fixing the threads. and yes its a thread repair kit.

Have you tried any of the equipment dealers in your area? I remember Cadillac and Ford dealers keeping thread repair kits on hand for their technicians because of aluminum castings.

Only one in my town uses just heli coils and he says the block has to be out of the car. I found a time sert set for a good price. I'm gonna get that and see how it works

hopefully this will fix all my problems. i bought the car mainly so i dont have to drive my truck very much anymore. but so far its looking like its gonna be broke as muchas my truck was lol.

No I haven't even paid the guy yet. I won't until tomorrow then he has to send it to me. Hopefully sometime next week.
