third gear

Default third gear

will a tune wake up my 5 speed 4.3 in third gear it kinda lags

As i stated in your other thread, a tune on a manual 4.3 does nothing. The only benefits from tuning a 4.3 are from increasing the shift points and taking out some TM while shifting. But thats in automatics. Manuals have none of that.

The engine itself isn't going to make much more power from a tune.

Someone also asked the exact same question last week.

what year is yours? i believe the 02+ can do the drill mod on the clutch line to help that fast 2-3 shift. other than that, you just have to run 2nd higher because it's such a wide gap in the ratios (2.32:1 to 1.40:1). when i had my 4.3, i would run to about 2500 before i shifted to 3rd - and that was just normal driving
