Default Thinking of buying a Envoy Denali

Looking at a 2006 2WD Envoy Denali for the family. I started looking at Tahoes but she refuses saying their to big and with the Envoy I can still get the v8. So far the only thing I didnt like to much is the rear entry and exit, but when we go somewhere I'll be the driver. My daughters are two and 6 months old so leg room not a problem. I need any input you have likes and dislikes welcome thanks.

The Envoy XL has bigger rear doors if you need that. Third-row seat too.

We have a '06 Buick Rainier with the I-6. It rides & drives great, but is lacking some in the torque department. I haven't driven one with a 5.3 to compare, but they should run pretty decent. I've driven a TBSS, but that's not really a fair comparison. It has good brakes. Easier to park than a Tahoe, fits in those tight spots. Front doors open wide. It can tow a small boat/utility trailer if needed.

The only real complaints I have with it is the design of the center console & lack of cupholders in the rear. The cupholders are small/shallow and the tranny shifter knocks into the larger size cups. Can't really put much in the console besides CD's, trash & spare change. If they would have put the stupid parking brake where it should be and had a shifter on the column, it would be so much better. My GF complains about not having a place to put her purse. The rear only has 1 cupholder down by your ankles in the center. Kids can't reach if they are buckled up.

The only warranty work done on ours was the air-ride bags would slowly leak down, so got them replaced a few months ago. Other than that it has been a good car, just wish it had a little more power.

they are the same size and same weight. Just as roomy. Not to mention the 5.3 will get 5 mpg better mileage on the highway.

I've owned both and only upgraded to the Tahoe for the V8 and better towing manners. My trailblazer was 2wd, I6, had 3.73s and got 22 mpg on the highway. Pulled my camper fine but was pushed around a lot by my 5k camper. My Tahoe is 4wd, 5.3L, 3.73s and doesn't get pushed around the road when towing. This was more of a safety upgrade for all of us. I LOVE my hoe! My wife complained about the size increase too (steady) soooo now I'm the only one that drives it. Problem solved.

You know better than that she can read and is very familiar with the 400hp rating. Yeah hate to admit but as long as she still lets me pick a GM for her to drive than Im happy. If you notice Im trying to stay v8.

I have an 05 Envoy Denali with the 5.3. It has been the best vehicle I have owned. I have a 1 year old and she has plenty of leg room no matter where I sit and I'm 6'2. The only time it wasn't big enough was on a trip to Michigan this summer but other than that it's great. I've ridden in the back a few times and it's really comfortable. Hope I helped out a little. -Mike
