Default Thinking about getting a 94 Yukon, tips?

I am thinking about getting a 94 yukon with 139k on it.

its going to be the 3rd car between me and my gf so it will mostly be used for going camping and stuff like that.

Is the 350 that is in it close to an lt1? I see that it only makes 200hp. Which is kinda on the weak side.

I used to have a 95 firebird formula and was wondering what kinds of things are interchangable like.

Also how are these for towing? I would probably like to be able to tow my car around everyonce in a while if I have to.

Anything to look for? I plan on checking it out tonight.

I have a 4runner now, so it can't suck worse then it does. It is by far the slowest most gutless thing I have ever owned.

this is counting against a tempo, datson b210, 70hp civic, and a 3.4L firebird (some were the gf's)

I am not looking for a fast suv. Just something decent.

My mom has a 1994 suburban with 186k miles on the clock. Has been the most reliable vehicle my family has ever owned. It still goes real well with only one person in it. It can tow our boat, the 4 of us, and all of our gear no problem. It is starting to use some oil, but nothing too bad. I'd get the yukon, based on our past with our suburban. I think we have replaced a water pump and a timing chain and that has been it, other than regular oil changes.

Does the suburban have the same 5.7L?

I drove it last night. Seems to run fine, though you can tell its got some miles.

I and do you think it would be good to tow 5k?

My Mom is driving a 94 Z71 with 220g's on the clock!! It has been one of the best truck my family has ever owned!! It's my Mom and Dads weekend gamblingmobile!! It has been to Louisiana just about every weekend of it's life!! And we also pull a 19 ft bay boat with it sometimes too!! Very good truck in my opinion!!! The only things that have been done to it, are a couple of radiators, and a water pump!! Oh yeah, its a 350 too!!

ok, if yo9u can get a 96. they have totally different engines then the 94 350. No it is knowhere even close to a lt1. These were TBI trucks and they suck bad. gas mileage sucks, power sucks, and they just plain suck. the 96 was the year that they really did alot with teh vortec. Also be very careful about transmissions. most chevy even if not abused drop their transmission around 100k. also engines usually run but could always use a rebuild, which personally isnt worth the money. might as well put a hp 350 with fuel injection and be done.
