This is kind of a follow up post to a previous one about "People now a days" where no one helped a stranded motorist. Well, my wife called me at work to say our daughters car died and what could it be. Well who knows without looking at it, my car and engine knowledge it pretty basic, new stuff and PCM's :dunno. I told her to call AAA for a tow to our mechanic's, she said she already did but the wait was going to be 2-3 hours. There were some kids a soccer practice in the park where they were and some parents were there watching. After the practice was over, she saw a man and boy going to one of the parked cars. The man came over, excused himself and asked if they were OK. My wife said what had happened and told him the AAA wait was 2-3 hours so they just had to wait. His repsonse was, "that's crap", he got on his cell phone and made a call. The man turned out to be the owner of a small local tow company and called one of his drivers. The tow owner stayed with my wife and daughter until his driver showed up because he said the park can get a little rough a night and they shouldn't just be sitting there by themselves. The driver showed up in about 30 minutes (on his night off mind you) and got the car all ready to be towed. My wife asked the owner how much she owed him and he said "nothing", she said "what?". He said he was affiliated with AAA and would bill them, the driver would get her card number. She thanked them both very much! She said he was a truly nice man as was the driver. The whole experience made her (and me for that matter) think a little more good thoughts about people in general, there are some nice ones out there.

Wow, thats great. Makes you want to be nice to people doesn't it?
I recently ran out of gas in my truck. I walked about a mile, bought a gas can, then began walking back. A 1982 yellow Cadillac ElDorado stopped and offered me a ride. So I took a ride from a nice black man named Marvin (whose car smelled strongly of incense
). Made me reconsider a few things.
