Default TB differences

are there any differences between a an 04 dbw 5.3 Throttle body and a 01 dbw tb? Jay

I dont think 01 had dbw....i could be wrong though

99-02 are cable, 03+ are wire

Yes the earlier models had DBW as well on certain vehicles, as was mentioned the ones with traction control, but there were quite a few others as well (C3, Yukon Denali, Sierra Denali, Escalade & the 8.1Ls). The early throttle body is way different from the '03 and up models and is more like the unit used on the Vette and CTS-V, only the motor is on the opposite side. It still has a seperate TPS like a cable operated model.

The TPS signals move in opposite directions on the early DBW TBs. The move in the same direction on the 03-06 truck TBs.
