Was it the Silverstar 880 that melted yours?

 

i have silverstars 9006 in my lows , 9005 in my highs , and there marker lights which look awesome during the day . and i got them in my fogs , the direct replacment ones . not had one problem awesome visibility and dont run to hot . ive seen that the 99 to 02's just plain have a problem with the fog lights gettin real melted looking and yellowed out .

 

No not yet. I don't know if it is worth it or not. Those would be harder to replace than the stock ones. You think it might be ok? I'll have to look at them again.


I had the 880's too, and yes those are the ones that cause problems in the 99-02 fogs.

 

i had silverstars in all my lights, and the only issue was life. the lows were burned out within 4 months. I just pitched all the bulbs and went with somthing else. the fogs did not melt the lenses, but the reflector right above the bulb. hasn't hurt anything so i'll let it ride.

 

Just my factory DRL's with stock bulbs even gives the burned appearance above them on my '04.

ok so does anyone know about these APC (hyper white) or PIAA (xtreme white) lights? they all have a darker blue tint on the lenses than the sylvania silverstars. will i loose night visability with these darker bulbs? and does anyone know how blue they really are?

 

Why not just convert to an HID lights no problems with heat, low current draw, and are a brighter whiter light. Oh they are expensive though, well it's only money right.

 

yeah well i kinda just dropped around $15k on a camburg long travel kit, fenders, bed cage, leaf springs, triple bypasses, coilovers,tires, rims, and a custom welded on skid plate. so yeah, right now money is tight. so what do ya think?
