im just putting in the 6L. well i drained everything, got all acessories out of the way, removed the intake mani, and labeled/disonnected the harness in 4 hours. when i took off the starter i could only see one of those verter bolts and took off the plate on the other side and could only see one more, i have a feeling alot of time will be spent trying to get those things out. its a pain to get out, how about putting them in, theres got to be something to make it easier

well i was under the impression that the converter bolts had to come out before you pull the engine (seemed impossible), a buddy of mine said just to do it when it was out. so we got everything pulled out (that sucker didn't want to separate)... so now i just got to swap the verter and flywheel then put in some new springs and it should be good to go back in. shop opens 9a-5p so thats it for the day.

well if you're trying to get the verter bolts out, put a wrench on the main pulley, and you're going to use that for leverage, and to also rotate the flex plate around for each bolt.

What he said, or what I did was take a crowbar and rotate the flex-plate tooth by tooth. not fun, but gets the job done.

i just stuck a bar in between the verter and flywheel, those suckers where on there. well yesterday i put the verter in first and seated it, then droped the 6.0 in. i got the front 2 mount bolts in on both sides and the tranny is lined up but i got about 1/2 in on the bottom and 1 in on the top i need to close up. the shop closed right as i was doing this and they are closed today. so tomorrow i think ill get a floor jack under the oil pan and one on the tranny and try to wiggle it on. the hard part is almost done. yeah i see what you guys are saying about the verter bolts. ill prolly rotate the crank and try to get them from the starter area. hopefully ill have her up and running this week.

today i pulled the engine out a little and re-seated the verter, then tried it again and it fell into place. i was able to get the intanke mani, acessories on before i got to work. so tomorrow ill conect the verter and flywheel, fans and radiator hoses and then fill'er up!
