Default Suggestions On Shipping Largeish Cargo?

I have a line on a used full OE Silverado SS exhaust system. It will be one 7 or 8 foot long section from the double pipe flange to the tip, and the 2 cats and pipes that connect to it.

It will go from PA to GA just North of Atlanta. We gotta be talking over 100 pounds.

I don't know where to begin getting shipping rates from. What do you guys know?

Default Yes I Did, Thanks

An 05 Z71 ECSB. I couldn't believe the deal. They flooded the market with cheap 04's and now they are standing around looking at the 05's. I was the only customer in the Bill Heard dealership. You could hear a pin drop.
I got the 310 HP aluminum blocked L33 5.3. The E-fans are nice and the brakes are 100% or more improved.

ac

DHL, I'll try them out and let you know.

Try UPS, maybe its because I work for them. Our rates are a little higher, but we treat everything that comes through our facility with the upmost respect. Any shipping places that you go through will charge you additional handling charges because its over 70 inches. Try going on the UPS site and you can find out the shipping prices. You will have to know dimensions of the box and were its coming from and were its going to. We have been in business for over 100 years, just make sure that the sender puts 2 inches of padding inside the whole box. Just in case if something does get damaged UPS will be help responsible for it. But in 99 percent of the cases of damages in our facility, its because it wasnt packaged right. Or call the local facility and you can get a rate from them. Hope this will help you.

Trust me, I'm the expert on this ... ship Greyhound, they size limits are twice that of UPS (150 inches) and they're HELLA cheap. You'll be shocked and I guarantee you'll use them again... I routinely ship hatch's, doors, fenders, interior panels for way way cheap through them for my parts business, and they don't have annoying overcharge fees like UPS and FedEx.

Greyhound? Never heard that one before! I use Fed Ex over UPS personally. One time I shipped some tires and wheels off of my old Silverado and UPS wanted each one boxed. I was just checking prices at the time and I also went to Fed Ex to get a price. Fed Ex was $10 cheaper at tire and they took them as they were, I had them wrapped in shipping plastic only, the clerk said it was good enough. Since then, I've used Fed Ex. On the subject of shipping an SS exhaust system, I was shipped one once. The sender sent it through the Post Office, he did cut the tailpipe off and wrapped it all up in a blue tarp. When I had it installed, the muffler shop just welded the tailpipe back on, looked fine.

Hey Thanks,

Tell me about the exhaust. Was it from the flange connection to the muffler on the front side or was it cut off there too, and were the cat pipes included?
What was your shipping weight?

We don't ship out greyhound, the others are at our dock daily.
I do get things shipped in by bus, they have a large area that's next-day anyway. Why pay the extra?
You have to box,or package, the shipment for all of them.

What I got was the whole exhaust, front pipes, muffler and tailpipe. The exhaust had been unbolted I guess where it connects to the cats, the two pipes into the muffler had flanges on them. I really don't remember the weight, it was shipped to me but it was heavy. The tailpipe was cut off at the muffler, the muffler and front pipes were left intaked. The tailpe was strapped to the muffler and then wrapped up so it could be shipped easier I guess, it did cut the length in half. I was given the exhaust for free so I paid like $60 to have the exhaust shipped from New York to California.

Default I Don't Suppose You Still Have The Paper Work?

Perhaps you can still contact the shipper? Alot to ask but, if you can find out the weight it would really help.
