Default suggestions for fixing a GMT 800 10 bolt.

So I decided to pull the cover off my rear end as I now have a one tire fire when I should have two. First I found I need a new cover (previous owner dented mine), and second I found that a have serious pieces of metal missing in one of my pinion gears as well as it being pretty loose.

I don't have the cash to buy an Eaton or auburn until spring at the earliest and this is my only means of transportation.

So would I be able to use parts of earlier 8.5 rear ends to fix mine until I can buy a Eaton or auburn? Or does anyone know of a late model junk yard in northern Indiana?
