Strange headlight question
#1
I dont drive my truck everyday... So when I do during the week it is usually dark out. I have noticed that when i'm leaving my house, for a couple of minutes my headlights kind of flicker? Not on and off but say they are on dim or bright the just go dim then back to normal? I'm just wondering if there is any cause to make them do this, or is the truck not fully charged before I leave (I wouldnt think that though cause everything else works fine whyle they flicker)? I do have aftermarket bulbs but I wouldnt think that they are the cause, but I was just wondering if any of yall's trucks ever do that. Thanks for any info .

Mine does that too, but my truck is my every day driver. I have aftermarket bulbs and ASP pulleys. I really noticed it after the pulleys, so I willing to bet it is with the charging system.

It's not just trucks cars also share this as well. It is the output voltage of the alternator that causes a noticable difference in brightness of lights. Usually when a high load is put on charging system, a/c ,cooling fan(car),& air pump.

I know that when there is a load that lights and excessaries will do that, but I dont think that I have any load on it? Plus it only does it for a few miinutes? The only things that will be onare te radio, and light's thats it. If the only way to fix this problem is to get another altenator then what should I get? May as well go with an aftermarket one since the stocker cant even keep my headlights bright.
