Well its a first for me. Anyone else seen or have different cast # on the same motor. Pass. side has 243 and Drivers is 799. I know they are the same head. Just weird!!

what i dont understand is why GM makes 2 casting numbers for the same head... god damn it !!! Keep It Simple Stupid !!! maybe thats why they went bankrupt, didnt follow the first rule of life

 

from what i understand the 243's are domestic and the 799's made south of the border.

 

With the way things are now, I guess they just take what they have, put them on the assy line. Meaning if they have x amount of 243 and 799 they just use what they have.

Just weird to me, most people wouldn't even notice it!
