Best thing do do would be to have some one with the right capabilitys put Dye in the oil and trace the leak with a UV light. You can Guess all day long and throw parts at it and never find the leak. I have seen head gaskets leak oil as well.

Most likely it would be Valve cover gaskets and you could have a problem with the PCV system not properly venting the crank case pressures. over time the oil cakes up and cause the PCV Valve to stick.

I have also seen the oil sensors them selfs leak along with the Knock sensor/Valley pan cover gasket leak.

oil pressure sensors are common for leaking.i replace them all the time.most of time when they leak there will be alittle oil inside the sensor. unplug the sensor and if there's oil on the pigtail then its leaking.

Sounds like yours is probably the rear main. It was updated and now typically needs to be ran "inside out" or any crankcase pressure will make it leak bad. Mine wouldnt leak at idle or anything, I could make one boosted run and it would leak several ounces.

thats what i was thinking, but i can look into the bellhousing through the inspection cover on the trans, and everything is clean on the back of the block

As mentioned the Dye in the oil and a UV light will be the only way. I have fixed cars that went to the dealer 3-4 times and they were still unable to find the leak.

1 Car went to 5 different shops for the same leak. He was affraid I was B.S.ing him too, So I showed him the leak with the UV light. And he was so relieved He bought us all lunch the next day.

The dye is good stuff, we use it at work for those hard to find leaks such as this

sounds good..thanks for the ideas guys..

o and to answer the question in the first post. the oil pressure sensor from a 5.3 does not fit a 6.0..the 6.0 hole is much bigger then the 5.3

lol no. It still leaks after a fresh oil change. Over time it goes away. **** I havent changed the oil on the Tahoe in over a year, only have 5k miles on it. No leaks since before last winter. I have no idea, I gave up on it.
