Yup, definetly a good guy. He got me my steering shaft for a pretty fair price.

I did the lube method to mine about 5 or 6 years ago and it has been good ever since. (GM used to offer a lube kit with grease and a stopper for plugging the end of the shaft to help force the grease between the splines). I used 2 kits when I did mine though (double the grease ). I've heard that most folks got about 6 months to 1 1/2 years after greasing theirs until their noise returned, so either I just got lucky or using twice as much grease was a good idea.

And I'll vouch for Torque Wrench also, great guy who's always willing to help

I used the plug and wheel bearing grease. Worked good for me for 3 years and counting... I've done about 5 or 6 other vehicles that way too.

We use marine-tec grease with the plug at our shop. Works great, lasts a long time.
