Keep in mind any small things you do to break their *** will probably deter them. They may be used to a standard silvy with an alarm, but any changes within the wiring they cant see would take a considerable amount of time to figure out.

Have you ever tried to fix wiring somebody else did? Its horrible lol

My Truck has a device that if the keys aren't within a certain distance of the truck the fuel pump is cut off.

Thanks for the ideas guys. A fuel cut off is going on the truck. I also ordered a crew cab rear door handle to eliminate the cylinder lock. All three times my trucks been broken into has been from the handle. I was thinking if it was possible to put a loud *** alarm since no one pays attention to it but me. Maybe a train horn?

Sadly I've come to the conclusion as well that alarms do nothing. In Houston, when a car alarm goes off, most people don't even look in that direction, and those that do are thinking "someone must have bumped into that car" and keep walking. I have never once seen someone say "hey, is that your car?" or "what are you doing there?"

I even see people slim jim cars in broad daylight in the middle of a parking low and no one cares, everyone assumes "oh, he must have locked his keys in his car," or they just think "not my problem"

my dad fixes stolen cars for a living. he laughs at alarms and calls the blinking light in the dash christmas lights. if they want it, they will get it. my truck was stolen and had 2 alarms on it. wasnt stolen from me because i knew better than to leave it in my driveway overnight or to drive it to the mall or somewhere dumb like that.

I agree no one pays attention to alarms but when done correctly they will keep it right where you left it unless they are using a wrecker. I installed for a living in college and got to see the aftermath of what they did looking for the alarms I installed when the trucks were brought back to our place to put em back together. Get you a new 2 way alarm with smart phone connection and booby trap everything you can to stall them and attract as much attention as you can. Time is their enemy.

I shaved my handles and got a fuel pump relay that will only work if my keys are in the truck. Some bastards did the exact same thing to me a few years ago. Ever since the handles were shaved, no one has tried to get in.

You could get a latching relay that will have a manual reset or something similar, that way when the alarm trips, the relay will change state and remain that way no matter if the alarm system is cleared.
