Default SSBC brake upgrade / bigger rotors by an inch?

So I'm curious... is there really much of an improvement on going with larger rotors? My truck came with the 13" dual piston setup (05) and I'm looking at the SSBC kit (A126-47) which will upgrade the rotors to 14" (yeah they're slotted too). I know the slotted rotors will help, but all other things aside will there be much of an advantage of going up 1" in rotor size? The truck already stops great, even with the SS 20's on it, I'm guessing this in the long run may just be more aesthetic.

Also anyone curious... SSBC is running a special with a mail in rebate on their kits through the end of October (this it gets you a $50 rebate).

I am running 14" brakes on my wife's Yukon XL. I have the 3 piston front calipers and relocated stockers out back (but they are 2 piston). I could tell a huge difference with her 22s. Granted her truck has the Hydroboost system but it also weighs a great deal. When I replace the wheels on the dually it will be getting big boy brakes as well. Do it you will be very happy.

It may just be an inch bigger in diameter, but it adds alot more surface area. I have the a126-56 SSBC kit on my '07 Tahoe which comes with stock sized rotors so I could fit them into my stock 17's and It stops alot better now.

Go for it, you wont regret it. Btw I found the best price at 4wheelparts.

yeah... I guess the only problem now is if I order them I will need a cheap set of 18's as well (not leaving the 20's on when I park it for the winter)

Some shopping around... best price I found on this kit is at autopartsdealer. $418.58 shipped (368.58 after rebate)
