Iwas referring to how you could get the same results cheaper not trying to start chevy dodge pissing match. The srt-10's are badass looking trucks and would blow my truck out of the water anyday anytime but me personally i just cant see spending that kind of money for lack luster performance for the dollar. If you got a ls model rcsb silverado with all the options you can walk out of the dealership for 27 grand add a radix exhaust and programming and you are at about 33 grand. You will turn high to mid 12's all day long. Now you go the other route a dodge srt-10 sticker is 45 grand now say they are discounting it which they arent but say you walk out of the dealership for 42 grand thats almost a 10 grand difference and that srt-10 will run a low 13. Now the cool factor is definately with the dodge but for what its suppose to be(a performance truck) it leaves a little to be desired for the price tag now if it was about ten grand cheaper there would be one in my driveway instead of my Z. The silverados dont need a 6 speed and 6L to haul *** just a radix. Yes the ssr is by far not one of chevy's greatest accomplishments and its ugly to boot I agree with you there. I guarantee there isnt a manual out there that can shift faster than my transmission. I would much rather just get in it and punch it than having to row through the gears. So if Im missing something here please tell me. Dont get me wrong the srt-10 is a badass truck but not worth the money IMO.

Although I would much rather have a Chevy. I'm driving around in a 02 rcsb Dodge right now while my truck is down and I REALLY miss my bowtie! Atmore is about 1 hour or so from Mobile or I believe about 2 1/2 or so from Motgomrey. Where is HSV? and yes is only a 1/8th.

Oh well I'm not really sure how far away that is. I know a few people from our track go there and some from there come to ours'. We will be having a 2 days race the 21st and 22nd for the Real Street Shootout.

I think alot of people forget just what this SRT 10 is. For a pickup, which is a brick in the wind aerodynamically, and it's not lightweight because it's a truck, not to mention the weight distribution it has because it's a truck, the MOTHER MOVES SERIOUS ***!! I'd take mine in black.
Seriously, the 1963 Galaxie lightweight with a ***** out 427 side oiler V8 with two four barrel carbs that Ford made exclusively for racing (stockcar/drag) wasn't as fast in the quarter as this truck is. The pros maybe got into the 12's and maybe in the 11's. Their cars were no longer streetable because of what they had to do and the technology of the time.
